With the newly renovated Bucherer Boutique, St. Gallen's old town is getting a real jewel. Over the course of a year, the listed façade and the interior were completely renovated. On a total of three floors, visitors can now look forward to fascinating brand spaces and areas as well as an inviting lounge with bar. All this is integrated into a holistic overall concept, offering a luxuriously relaxed feel-good ambience and excellent service quality.

During the redesign of the boutique, historical aspects were skillfully integrated into the overall conversion. The new 280-square-meter boutique impresses visually with its clear lines and shapes, high-quality materials and walls clad with wooden slats. We particularly like the relaxed living room atmosphere that was created with the help of various comfortable seating options, an inviting bar and appealing art objects.

The focus of our Artworth at Bucherer event in St. Gallen was once again on the fascinating world of Certified Pre-Owned. These timepieces can be found on the second floor. Unwinding at Einstein St. Gallen

After our seventh successful Artworth at Bucherer event, we settle down at the Einstein in St. Gallen. It is the perfect location for delectable dining experiences, business meetings, comfortable hotel stays and relaxing times in the wellness area.

In the Bistro St. Gallen, that is part of the Hotel Einstein, we enjoy delicious food in a cozy and stylish atmosphere. In addition to local classics, the Bistro also has seasonal international specials. Here, guests will find the right culinary feast at any time of the day!

London is a city that never fails to impress. With its vibrant culture, rich history, and unmatched fashion scene, it's no surprise that it's a top destination for many travelers. Recently, we visited the city to host our 6th Artworth at Bucherer event, the first one in the United Kingdom.

Exploring London

Our stay started with a good breakfast at White Mulberries at Hay's Galleria. In a city filled with incredible coffee shops and breakfast places, there is a lot to be discovered. White Mulberries has long been a favorite of ours because it obviously serves great coffee but has also an incredible banana bread on the menu.

After getting our coffee fix, it was time for some meetings around town. Driving around with the new Range Rover, we got to see some of the famous sights as well. It is impressive to see how the the City of London is ever evolving.

Scarfes Bar at Rosewood London

We decided to stay at the Rosewood Hotel during our trip to London. This luxury hotel is centrally located, in the city's Holborn neighborhood, and is renowned for its Scarfes Bar, which boasts an impressive selection of rare spirits.

One evening, we headed to the bar, where we met Martin Siska, a talented mixologist who crafted a delicious cocktail with cognac by Rémy Martin. We were thoroughly impressed with his expertise and enjoyed our drinks immensely.

Offering drawing room conviviality and gentleman’s club sophistication, this bar gives true meaning to the phrase ‘get scarfed’. A roaring fireplace and shelves filled with over 1,000 antique books complete the classy atmosphere. We were particularly impressed with the selection of fine and rare spirits available. The perfect time and place to enjoy a glass of Rémy Martin XO and play chess!

Artworth at Bucherer

After Paris and Munich, London was the third event we organized outside of Switzerland. As usual, guests had the opportunity to discover rare Bucherer Certified Pre-Owned models by Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, and many more. Centrally located, the Bucherer boutique in Covent Garden was the perfect location to host this event!

We were thrilled with the turnout and enjoyed sharing our knowledge of mechanical watches and men's fashion with the attendees. Fielding & Nichols made sure that the guests got a good idea about the latest seasonal fabrics by Dormeuil. Meanwhile, Rémy Martin treated the attendees to some nice cocktails throughout the evening as well as hosting an exclusive XO tasting.

Our week in London was once more a fantastic experience. We relished exploring the city's fashion scene, trying new coffee shops, and learning more about the city's rich history. Co-hosting the event at Bucherer was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip, and we were delighted to share our passion for Swiss timepieces with fellow enthusiasts.

Event Preparations

The night before the event check-in at the IN LAIN Hotel Cadonau. It is the smallest 5-star superior hotel in Switzerland and is only a 30 minute drive away St. Moritz, which can get pretty croweded when events take place in town. Here we spend a wonderful evening enjoying some incredible food prepared by Michelin-star Chef Dario Cadonau. During the dinner we get the chance to talk watches.

One definitely wants to wear a chronograph during a classic car event. And one of the first chronographs coming to mind is of course the iconic Zenith El Primero. The movement is so precise and proven that is was used by many other brands back in the days. One of them was, you guessed it, Rolex! Their beloved Daytona was outfitted with the reliable El Primero movement during the years 1988 to 2000.

Another brand known for its chronograph watches is IWC. Although their Pilot's Watch was developed for aviation, it is often associated with racing as well. The brand certainly embraces that and is proud of its involvement in Formula One.

Attending THE ICE St. Moritz

The next morning, we finally step on the frozen Lake St. Moritz. An unbelievable amount of extremely rare cars can be admired during THE ICE. The fact that the owners of these gems drive the cars on snow and ice is just mind blowing!

Since it can get freezing cold on the lake, many of the spectators wear a thick coat or winter jacket. But no outfit is complete without an appropriate timepiece. One model we can certainly recommend is the Omega Speedmaster. The Racing edition is particularly suitable of course. Did you know that while the Speedy was the watch first worn on the moon, it was originally designed for racing?

Two more models underline the Speedy's racing heritage. One of them is the Omega Speedmaster Racing with a beautiful red dial and yellow second hand. Dubbed "Michael Schumacher" it pays tribute to the Ferrari which the German icon famously drove during his successful Formular One career.

Another fun model is the Omega Speedmaster Tintin. Although the red and white checkered minute track reminds one of a race course, it was originally meant to be a nod to the Tintin's adventure in the "Explorers on the Moon" comics.

A more unconventional yet maybe classier choice is the TAG Heuer Monaco. Its history is closely linked to racing. Hollywood actor Steve McQueen famously wore it in the movie "Le Mans". It is certainly a timepiece that belongs in every car enthusiast's watch collection.

A more contemporary choice would be the Audemars Piguet Offshore. First released in 1993, it was launched at a time where bigger and bulkier watches really spoke to a younger generation. Even today, it is beloved among people who associate themselves with a more active lifestyle.

Staying at InterContinental Paris LeGrand

Checking-in at the InterContinental Paris LeGrand feels like traveling back in time. The iconic hotel was inaugurated under Napoleon III and is located in the heart of Paris. It offers guests a magnificent view of the Opera Garnier. The 5-star hotel boasts rooms and suites decorated in a Second Empire style infused with contemporary touches.

One of the highlights is the Verrière, a spacious winter garden inside the hotel. Seating is bathed in natural light under the vast metallic atrium and enhanced with giant ficus plants, white orchids and lights reminiscent of Parisian passageways. The serenity of the Verrière feels like an oasis in the midst of Paris' bustling streets. In the evening, an intimate atmosphere in the gentle glow of the large central chandelier awaits guests.

The Café de la Paix, a Parisian institution within the hotel, serves the great classics of French gastronomy. It has always been at the heart of Parisian art and art de vivre. Exploring Paris

The central location of InterContinental Paris LeGrand is ideal to check out some famous sights by foot. For example the iconic Galeries Lafayette with their incredible terrace that can be visited for free.

From here, more sights like the Opéra or the Palais Royal are just minutes away by foot. The latter is one of our favorite places in the city. We love to grad a flat white at Kitsuné and settle down on a bench inside the Palais Royal Garden and read the newspaper.

The Louvre is only a stone throw away from here. While the exhibitions here attract large crowds, we usually enjoy coming here simply for the architecture. Historic buildings, restful gardens and modern elements make for a great combination!

When needing a break, where better to go than one of the many beautiful bistros? There are tons of classy corner cafés that can be discovered. We usually like to sit outside and watch the busy city life unfold before us while enjoying a coffee or glass of champagne.

The Swiss watch and fine jewellery experts from Bucherer have set up a very nice boutique in Paris. It is actually situated inside the same iconic building as the InterContinental Paris LeGrand on 12, Boulevard des Capucines.

Not too long ago, a Bucherer Gallery was opened inside the boutique. This marvelous space is dedicated to certified pre-owend watches. These are timepieces that Bucherer acquires, services and offers again to its clients - with a two year warranty.

One example is this Rolex Cosmograph Daytona. With its 40 mm rose gold case, this reference 116505 comes equipped with the automatic caliber 4130.

Another exceptional piece displayed at the event was an Omega Speedmaster Professional "Silver Snoopy Award". Limited to only 5'441 numbered pieces, this watch was launched to commemorate the Apollo XIII mission. On the second sub register, the famous “Eyes on the Stars” was added. It can also be found on the case back.

But why is there a Snoopy on a Speedy? Well, at the time of the Apollo lunar program he was a very popular character and was liked by the Apollo 10 crew. Their lunar module was even named after him. Snoopy was therefore chosen as the watchdog for NASA's prestigious manned flight awareness award.
The "Silver Snoopy" is awarded to individuals and companies for outstanding efforts that contribute to the success of human space flight missions. Omega received its Snoopy Award on 5 October 1970 in recognition of the crucial role that its Speedmaster chronograph played on the Apollo 13 mission.

Our Artworth at Bucherer event series continues. After Zurich, Bern and Munich, we stopped in Geneva for this latest edition. Besides beautiful views, our guests got to enjoy and discover many other exciting things. Read on to learn more!

Artworth at Bucherer Event Series

Great watches have stories that never end, they just get better with time. This principle is at the core of Bucherer Certified Pre-Owned's philosophy. And the same is true for our event series in which we don't only discover extraordinary timepieces but also high-quality whisky and vintage champagne.

The first event we hosted together with Bucherer was in October 2020. In a time where phyiscal contacts were rare but all the more appreciated. The initial success of this event held in Zurich led us to continue with this format and take it to more cities. After Bern and Munich, we have now arrived in the French speaking world.

A memorable Evening in Geneva

On the evening of 18 October 2022, watch enthusiasts make their way over to Rue du Rhône 45 in Geneva. On the 4th floor of the iconic building with beautiful views of Geneva and its lake, the wonderful Gallery awaits them. Here, drinks are served and small bites enjoyed.

Together with our guests we get to drink Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2013 tonight. We love how every Grand Vintage is unique and expresses the Cellar Master’s personal interpretation of the year. It's already the 75th Grand Vintage in the House’s history. Its maturity is immediately apparent.

Besides champagne and great food, we also get to enjoy some perfectly mixed Negroncino. All is enjoyed inside the beautiful Bucherer Gallery which was opened in 2019 and still sets the industry standard for selling pre-owned watches. What we love in particular is the changing decoration of the Gallery. Currently, the Geneva-based Atelier WOCS is exhibiting their vintage posters here. Some of them have been created exclusively for Bucherer.

In terms of watches, Bucherer is the place to go if you are looking for a special timepiece. Here, you can find rare models like the Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet or the Overseas by Vacheron Constantin. But there are also many watches appealing to more specific tastes. Like this Panerai Submersible Ceramica.

Those who know us won't be surprised that we also had a tailor on site to give advice on the latest trends when it comes to suits and jackets. Luca Dalbiondo is a local tailor who strives to craft exclusive, one-of-a-kind garments, tailored to fit his clients and their unique characters perfectly.

Unwinding at the Beau-Rivage Genève

After a long night we're happy to wake up in the beautiful Beau-Rivage Genève. Not far away from last night's location. Here we take in the beautiful views of Lake Geneva before enjoying a wonderful breakfast at Albertine’s. The large choice of à la carte breakfast is truly exquisite.

To get to Adelboden, one has to drive around 1 hour from Bern, the Swiss capital. Winding roads take us through a scenic landscape up to the picturesque mountain village. Explore the Bernese Oberland

Adelboden’s alpine, sporting and cultural attractions combine ever-changing views with exciting activities, whether in the countryside or in the heart of the village. To explore the area, we join Experience Manager Joel Maunder on a trip in the hotel's bespoke Land Rover Defender.

The vehicle has been customized by Outlander, a small, family business concerned with restoring and upgrading existing Land Rover vehicles. Based in Scotland, the company offers a level of individuality, originality, quality and style which can not be found anywhere else. In fact, Outlander has come to define the custom Defender through designing and establishing a congruent and timeless aesthetic over the past decade.

We drive up to the Bonderalp. From here, we enjoy magnificent views that only the Bernese Oberland can offer. High above us is the rocky face of the Gross Loner mountain. Even for us as Swiss, this is a very spectacular sight.

Unwind in the Spa

After an eventful day, the spa is the perfect place to unwind. With heated indoor and outdoor pools, a Finnish sauna, steam bath, and a nice relaxing area, The Cambrian has an award-winning spa. Especially the the big outdoor pool offers the ultimate relaxation space.

We also had the pleasure to enjoy a treatment by the talented therapists at The Cambrian. Guests can choose from bespoke treatments including many different outstanding massages.

Enjoy Culinary Delights

No matter if you're out exploring or relaxing in the spa, at one point you will have worked up an appetite. At The Cambrian, a member of Design Hotels, you certainly won't go hungry. Here, the motto is: "There's no reason that good, honest and healthy food shouldn't taste fantastic." And we couldn't agree more!

Bryn Williams at the Cambrian Restaurant

Their main restaurant is called "Bryn Williams at the Cambrian". Here, only the very best local products are used and cooked with care and imagination. Guests can graze through the seasonal menu and savour a taste of the Alps. Although there are also some influences of the team's culinary journeys in London and Wales. Bryn Williams, 'Chef Patron' at The Cambrian grew up in Wales and has worked at some of London's most prestigious kitchens. He worked alongside Marco Pierre White at 'The Criterion' and Michel Roux at 'Le Gavroche'.

Quality and provenance of ingredient is an essential layer in the philosophy at "Bryn Williams at The Cambrian". Most ingredients are sourced from mountains, lakes, rivers and farms exclusively within the surrounding area and Canton of Bern. The Chefs will regularly hike up the mountain before work to forage for mushrooms, herbs, berries and more. Combine the resulting dishes with the amazing wines offered on the menu and the stage is set for an unforgettable evening.

The Axe Bar

If you're looking for a more casual and urban experience, then The Axe Bar will be for you. It offers wholesome food, a well-stocked bar and a place to read and reflect, from midday to midnight each day. Guests can have a lazy lunch or settle in for a long evening and brag about their daytime adventures.

We recommend you to sample one of the local beers, a pale ale was specifically made for The Cambrian by a local brewery, or enjoy a glass of wine. The bar team will also be happy to serve you a creative or classic cocktail. You probably deserve it!
