Did you know that there have only been 5 iterations of the iconic Range Rover since its initial launch over 50 years ago? Naturally, every new release gets car enthusiasts excited. We were lucky enough to test the category defining luxury SUV on Switzerland's winding roads. Join us for an unforgettable road trip with the new Range Rover!

The New Range Rover is all about distinguished Design

Range Rover has always represented the pinnacle of progressive luxury. In its latest iterations, proportions are defined by aesthetic grace, sophistication and refinement. We love the reductive nature of the design that is free from superfluous detail. But is it the most desirable Range Rover ever created?

One thing is for sure, the modern interpretation of the iconic Range Rover profile still provides a recognizable silhouette. Wherever you are on the planet, the world will know what you're driving. But that's now all. Flush elements have been added, clean expansive surfaces can be admired and hidden-until-lit tail lamps ignite a spark of excitement in us.

The new Range Rover also features a modern and sophisticated interior, underpinned by tactile materials and an intuitive approach to relevant technology. A choice of Standard or Long Wheelbase body designs provides elevated luxury for five or even seven adults.

Enjoy Refinement and Luxury

Range Rover makes every journey an occasion, combining contemporary luxury with peerless refinement. This can be experienced when approaching the Range Rover and the flush deployable door handles engage. Or when closing the doors. They are now "Intelligent Power Assisted". Details like this soft door close feature set the tone for an unmatched traveling experience.

Another example is the new Meridian™ Signature Surround Sound System. It features next-generation Active Noise Cancellation, delivered via world-first headrest speakers to create quiet zones. This innovative system helps creating a peaceful haven from the outside world.

A very clever new feature is the Range Rover's Cabin Air Purification Pro system. The nanoe™ X technology significantly reduces odors, bacteria, allergens and pathogens. The CO 2 management also enhances wellness and alertness, monitoring levels inside the cabin and automatically refreshing the air when needed.

The new Range Rover is equipped with intuitive Technology

A much needed update is delivered in terms of technology and infotainment. Now, seamlessly integrated connectivity and convenience are available at every turn. The Advanced Pivi Pro infotainment is always on, always connected, and always up to date. We love to control the vehicle through the curved, floating 13.1" touchscreen. Haptic controls now provide new levels of visual sophistication and tactility. There's also a new high-resolution 13.7" Interactive Driver Display which offers configurable layouts and important information at a glance.

Experience heightened performance

Besides featuring the company's most advanced powertrains, sophisticated driving technologies further add to the unparalleled performance of the car. Improved handling is combined with a smoother ride through features including Adaptive Dynamics and Electronic Air Suspension with Dynamic Response Pro.

Currently, there are several models of the new Range Rover available. Among them are Plug-in Hybrid in 440PS and 510PS versions or you can opt for the 530PS, 4.4-litre V8 model. The latter produces maximum torque of incredible 750Nm.

Rely on exceptional Capability

On our road trip from the urban environment of Zurich to the scenic but demanding roads of the Swiss Alps we get to test the new Range Rover's unique skill set. Suitable for a rather large vehicle, all wheel steering is fitted as standard. It delivers an even more refined drive, with high-speed stability and enhanced low-speed agility. It makes a turning circle kerb-to-kerb of under 11 meters possible. Electronic Air Suspension with Dynamic Response Pro 2 includes pre-emptive technology for a smoother drive through corners. Terrain Response 2 automatically adapts the vehicle's system to any surface or conditions. Very useful in Switzerland's fast changing terrain.

Overall, the new Range Rover delivers modern British luxury at its best. While a Range Rover was always a great all-rounder, it is now also a true luxury vehicle. We love how it blends traditional craftsmanship and engineering brilliance with the very latest technology. The latter makes driving the car truly enjoyable!

Do you prefer to drive a Defender in Switzerland? Then read this article out the new Defender 90.

The Land Rover Defender is one of the most iconic cars out there. Since its introduction in 1983, it has remained true to its core values as an off-road vehicle. With the latest version, the British brand wants to prove that the Defender is equally at home on tarmac and dirt roads. So, what's our take on the Land Rover Defender 90?

Smooth on the Road

When driving the new Land Rover Defender 90one notices an undeniable road presence. At almost 2 meters in height and width, we overlook most other vehicles on the road, while sitting in the driver seat. Surprisingly, the car remains maneuverable and doesn't feel as bulky as one might expect. With its 400hp, it also delights with great power in situations requiring acceleration and speed.

A huge step was taken in terms of driver assistance. The Land Rover Defender 90 now comes with state-of-the-art cruise control, speed limiter, land keep assist and 3D surround camera. A digital instrument panel and a large 11-inch entertainment screen offer easy accessibility to all these features.

Overall, the interior of the Land Rover Defender 90 is a clever mix of utility and discreet luxury. A combination the British brand is well known for. True to its DNA, there's a tastefully integrated rustic feel to the interior. Exposed bolts are on the doors and metal is visible on both the steering wheel and dashboards. Still, we don't have to miss modern day luxuries like heated seats, 3D panoramic cameras and a Meridian sound system. All we can ask for as businessmen when driving on the highway or in the city. But what about the explorer inside of us, would he buy it too?

Serious Off-Road Capabilities

While most consumers don't drive their SUVs off-road, someone in Switzerland or the Scottish Highlands might! And this is where the Land Rover Defender 90 differs from its competition. It can conquer a wide range of terrains, from snowy mountains to deserts and rivers.

The engineers equipped it with all necessary tools to prevail when facing rough terrain. The most important is its electronically controlled suspension. At the push of a button, the ground clearance can be lowered by 40mm, or raised by 75mm to 145mm. This radically transforms the height of the car and allows it to overcome any obstacle. Aided by its 4-wheel drive, it has a variety of driving modes that will support the pilot in challenging situations. One example is the elevated air intake. With it we don't have to worry about crossing rivers or cruising through deserts.

Our Take on the new Land Rover Defender 90

For us, the new Land Rover Defender 90 strikes the perfect balance between the iconic Defender look and feel and modern day comfort and safety. The updated infotainment and driver assistance make it comfortable to drive on the road while the off-road capabilities have also been enhanced further. In our opinion, this is the perfect vehicle for someone looking to drive an iconic SUV that comes with modern technology.

On a crisp winter day, the silent countryside is pierced by the deep growl of a compressed v8, occasionally interrupted by its own gun-like exhaust. This unmistakable sound belongs to the Jaguar F-Pace SVRthe British brand's supercharged SUV. First released in 2018, it received a slight facelift in 2021 to keep up with the times. And it is now equipped with a state-of-the-art infotainment system and has received upgrades to its interior finishes. Let's have a look together!

The Jaguar F-Pace SVR's Engine and Handling

Powered by a 550bhp compressed v8, the Jaguar F-Pace SVR offers 516nm of torque to all four wheels. No need to say that you feel sheer power when putting your right foot down. The 8-speed automatic transmission is almost instantaneous, although it is not the smoothest. This results in a responsive car that reacts quickly when the driver presses the accelerator. For more sensitive driving, we recommend you stay in comfort or economy mode.

One thing to keep in mind when purchasing a new Jaguar F-Pace SVRare the costs associated with its ownership. This vehicle consumes a minimum of 9l/100km when driving at its best. But with the slightest acceleration you can see it climb to 30l/100km. A quick trip can therefore get expensive quite quickly. That being said, nothing else is expected from an engine of this size.

High-end finishing

Walking around the Jaguar F-Pace SVR for the first time, we immediately notice the well finished exterior with aerodynamic lines. Without having a too aggressive appearance, its SUV spirit remains intact. On the other hand, some crucial parts like the side skirts, air vents and front air intakes are made from plastic instead of carbon fiber for example. Considering the overall quality of the car, this is a bit disappointing.

Still, the car is very well finished overall, with the interior feeling particularly nice. The cockpit offers the perfect mix of sport and luxury. The leather sport seats keep the driver strapped in, even at high speeds. A crucial feature!

When it comes to the infotainment system, Jaguar has made big improvements with its latest update. The new Jaguar F-Pace SVR now comes equipped with an 11-speaker Meridian audio system. Plus, it now has a large 11.4-inch touchscreen on the center column. Both Apple Carplay and Android Auto are now seamlessly integrated with wireless connectivity.

What's our Take?

With the 2022 facelift of the Jaguar F-Pace SVRJaguar has delivered a much needed update on connectivity and infotainment. While retaining the car's DNA as a highly dynamic SUV, it is capable of both comfort and performance. The compressed v8 lives up to its promise, delivering torque and sound when needed.

If you are looking to spend north of CHF 120'000 on a sports SUV, then the Jaguar F-Pace SVR is a serious contender to other vehicles in this category. So make sure to schedule a test drive soon! If you are more interested on an electric vehicle, then check out this article about the Jaguar I-Pace.
