The Italian art of cooking follows one simple principle: preparing the best ingredients in such a way that they retain their character. At the Victora-Jungfrau's Sapori, they live by this very principle. Here, antipasti, subtle creations like veal escalope with lime sauce, fresh fish and seafood as well as classic pasta dishes such as spaghetti alla carbonara are served. A must-try is their authentic pizza! The pizzaiolo makes our favorite pizzas right before our eyes. Needless to say that they are also offering a wide selection of wines from the best growing regions in Italy. Overall, we love how the Sapori offers the perfect ambience of Italian charms and traditions.
Salon Davidoff
Attached to the Victoria Bar is the «Salon Davidoff – Cigar Lounge», the place for cigar aficionados. Here we choose from a wide selection of cigar varieties from various growing regions (including Cuba). The friendly staff is happy to support us in selecting the perfect variety to enjoy in this place of tasteful surroundings. With our cigars, we pair Swiss Mountain Single Malt Whisky by a local distillery. It aged for seven years in Oloroso sherry barrels and convinces us with complex notes of vanilla and caramel. Believe it or not but Interlaken is a true watch town. Few places are home to more watch boutiques and retailers than this beautifully situated town. Interlaken is the gate to untamed nature and high mountain peaks. Naturally, thrill-seekers also need a place to relax. Surrounded by more than 200 alpine peaks and embedded in a pristine mountain environment, the Piz Gloria is located at 2,970 meters above sea level. The instantly recognizable summit building takes pride of place on the Schilthorn summit. "The perfect hideout for a supervillain!" That's probably what the directors from the legendary James Bond 007 franchise thought before they started filming here from October 1968 to May 1969. The Schilthorn ended up being the main filming location for the iconic movie "On Her Majesty’s Secret Service".
The revolving summit restaurant served as the headquarters of James Bond's arch-nemesis Blofeld and was called "Piz Gloria" – a name it has kept to the present day. As we visit, we dive straight into the action at Bond World, the interactive exhibition dedicated to the movie. It features seven key scenes and plenty of film-related trivia. Guests can catch a glimpse of the original screenplay and test their own James Bond skills. Exhilarating Bond moments beckon during a fast and furious bobsleigh ride or a helicopter simulator flight in the original chassis of the decommissioned Air Glaciers Alouette III. For James Bond fans, the Schilthorn is definitely worth a visit!
