Norqain Independence 20

Norqain | Meet the Independence 20

Earlier this year, NORQAIN made an exciting announcement about their partnership with Kenissi. Two exclusive Manufacture Calibres resulted from this collaboration. With the Independence 20, the first NORQAIN watch powered by one of these high-performance mechanical movements is presented. We went hands-on with this masterpiece and can’t wait to present you our firsthand impressions!

A new brand enters the stage

The family-owned and independent watch brand NORQAIN is relatively new. The Nidau-based company was founded in 2018 and focuses exclusively on manufacturing mechanical Swiss watches. However, watchmaking has a long tradition at NORQAIN. For more than four decades the owner family has been creating and developing watches. In 2018, Ben Küffer finally launch his own brand. His father, Marc Küffer, joins the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors, thus bringing 45 years of industry experience to the young company.

Following the announcement in February 2020 regarding a strategic partnership with the watchmaker Kenissi, Norqain has now launched their first watch featuring a manufacture calibre.

It should come as no surprise that the first timepiece equipped with a manufacture calibre is from the trailblazing Independence collection. This symbolizes the brand’s commitment to independence.

Hands-on with the Independence 20

First, let us have a look at the NORQAIN Manufacture Calibre NN20/1. It is a mechanical automatic movement, it is chronometer certified, features 27 rubies with a personalized bridge. Moreover, tt has an engraving of the NORQAIN core values: Adventure – Freedom – Independence. Furthermore, it comes with a personalized NORQAIN oscillating weight, boasts a “weekend-proof” power reserve of 70 hours and a balance frequency of 28’800 vibrations per hour (4Hz). The Independence 20 has been created for the individual who embraces what makes them unique and forges their own path – a mindset that we value a lot at Artworth!

Next, we want to talk about the dial. It has a cool scratched texture on a forest green base. Large indicators and red details give the timepiece a sporty look while maintaining a classy attitude. We love to wear it with a light-colored suit to make the watch a real eye-catcher.

Another thing we love about NORQAIN is, that their watches equipped with a Manufacture Calibre come with a four-year international warranty. If you join the NORQAINER Club within one month of your in-store purchase, you can even extend the warranty by one year for a total of five years. Amazing, right?

If you want to go hands-on with the Independence 20 as well, we recommend you to visit one of the authorized NORQAIN retailers around the world. But be sure to be quick because this limited edition of only 200 pieces might sell out quickly. It is available online from CHF 2,840.00 with a leather strap and CHF 2’990.00 with a steel bracelet.
